BIOGRAPHY
I have been interested in art as long as I can remember. At an early age, I often accompanied my father Bob Brubaker as he conducted drawing and painting classes for the local art guild in Greenville, Ohio. Although I have studied with other fine artists over the years, my father has been the most important influence on my artistic growth. Dad continues to encourage me to "paint rich" and to tell a story with my paintings.
Living on the Georgia coast provides an endless source of creative material for my landscapes. Around every corner is an interesting scene to capture, whether it is a shrimp boat heading out, an egret keeping watch over a tidal creek, or the way light and shadows define a sand dune. Trips to Ohio and Maine also provide inspiration for my paintings.
Local art organization memberships include the Glynn Art Association, McIntosh Art Association, Jekyll Island Arts Association and the Oak Grove Island Artists' Guild.
